The confusions that make the income statement shake
The confusions that make the income statement shake
Although the mobile application, available since Thursday, streamlines the procedures, it is advisable to analyze all the data of the IRPF to avoid future problems
The Treasury has given a new twist in the processing of income tax to streamline the presentation of income tax. For the first time, the Tax Agency makes available to the taxpayer a mobile application from which you can find out about your fiscal data for 2017. The 'app' will be active from this Thursday, day 15, although it will not be until April 4 when Start the Rent Campaign, with the presentation of the settlements, until the end of June.
The technological initiative can be a double-edged sword for those who do not adequately review the income, deductions, withholdings and other circumstances included in its liquidation. The rush to present the IRPF and collect as soon as possible the return - if this is up to the citizen - or the difficulty when moving with a mobile format full of tax data can be a double-edged sword that will play against the interests of the taxpayer if he does not adequately manage the information provided by the 'app'.
For this, it has almost half a month ahead, a period in which the analysis of the data offered by the Treasury must be exhaustive to avoid fiscal problems in the future. These are the boxes that usually cause more problems.
Change of family situation
If during 2017 you had children, got married or divorced, it is advisable to make sure that the Treasury has included that reality in the IRPF draft. On the one hand, for the need to update the data, and on the other, because the direction of the settlement can change when applying, or limit, certain deductions. It is also advisable to review the assigned autonomous community, as well as the data of the owner.
Review the regional deductions
They are the most unknown boxes of the entire Income Tax return. Those destined to apply the deductions established by each autonomous community often go blank due to ignorance. There are tax credits of all kinds in each territory. For example, many regions maintain their deduction for rent, while the state has disappeared.
Homebuying
Those who still benefit from the rebate for the acquisition of a habitual residence - with a deduction of 15%, applicable for purchases prior to 2013 - have to monitor the data of the amounts paid throughout 2017. In addition, other concepts such as home insurance, a circumstance that many taxpayers are unaware of.
Pension plans
It is another of the tax reductions that many taxpayers usually enjoy. Although the Treasury will offer you the data -which your entity will have previously provided-, it is advisable to review these contributions so as not to let a single tributary euro escape.
Correct income
The Tax Agency will provide via mobile the yields of the work of each citizen, with their corresponding withholdings. Although it does not have to fail, the Treasury can also confuse your data. To review them, it is enough to collate this information with what you have foreseeably provided and your company in this regard.
This Thursday will also begin postal shipments and taxpayers who went to the Treasury last year and were limited to confirm their statements without making any changes (860,000 taxpayers) will be the first group to which the tax data will be sent, with the reference number and the information of the assistance services. Other news of this income campaign will be the cessation of the sending of drafts by mail, as well as the sending of SMS with the reference number and the different notices made by the Tax Agency, which can now be received through the mobile application .
